For some reason, I always loved this flavourful dish and I always relate to the times when, as a kid, I was stealing team off the counter while my mum was cooking them. Have fun!
- 500g of minced beef
- 500g of minced pork
- 5 cloves of garlic
- half of teaspoon of salt (adjust according to taste)
- half of teaspoon of paper (adjust as well)
- 10g of dill and parsley
- 2 eggs
- one finely grated potato
1Get your meat already minced from the supermarket, you can also grind your meat at home but it tends to be more time consuming and messier. You just need to get this ratio correct of 50% beef and 50% pork minced meat.
2Start getting one potato through the fine part of your grater and finely chopping the dill and parsley, which will add to the amazing aroma of the final product. Add the meats in a big bowl on top of which we will add the finely chopped herbs and potato, two eggs and the crushed garlic alongside with the salt and paper.
3Mix everything thoroughly together and shape into small or medium size meatballs. You can use a tablespoon for measuring the composition so that you have uniform shapes across your meatballs. It’s good to prepare all of them in advance as this is the most time-consuming step.
4Fry them in oil (sunflower preferably) for about 5 minutes, browning them uniformly and serve with pickles or mustard or some fresh veggies such as tomatoes or cucumber. Next party you have to bring them with you and I assure you, you will become a constant guest.
